Rho LeonisThis star, which is close to the ecliptic (like the nearby Regulus), is a very early blue supergiant, which left the main sequence not long ago. The value for its distance is quite inexact - and in consequence these for mass and luminosity as well. The A-star has a fairly big partner B, probably a blue main sequence star, about which not much is known.Constellation: Leo Age: 7 million years Distance: circa 4000 light-years Visual magnitude: 3.842 Radial velocity: 42.0 km/sec Orbit period of Rho Leonis A and B: about 1 year
