Change Single RGB Values

Calculator for changing the individual color components of red, green and blue of a color. Each of the three values can be inverted or set to any other value. If all three values are inverted, then the complementary color results. The values can be changed directly in the color code. Original color remembers the color value entered first.

Color code: #

Original color: #

Red, green, or blue inverse inverts the respective color value and leaves the other two color values unchanged. Inversion always refers to the original color in the lower color field. To work with a new color, enter it in the upper input field and click Calculate new color. Example calculates the inverted green value of orange, which is a red orange.
Color code to original transfers the upper value downwards, original color to code transfers the lower value upwards. The upper value can be entered directly. The lower value serves as a memory. The inversions refer to the upper value.

Inversion means taking the hexadecimal value FF and subtracting the respective color value from it. In the example above, FF minus A5 equals 5A. It doesn't matter whether the letters of a color value are written in upper or lower case. The fact that the value is simply inverted here in this example is a coincidence and by no means the case for all values.
FF means that a color component is fully present, 00 means it is not present at all. Inversion swaps the present and absent components. This process is more noticeable the more extreme the characteristic is - that is, the closer the color value is to the maximum FF or the minimum 00. For values in the middle, however, hardly anything changes. The values closest to each other are 7F and 80. There is no value exactly in the middle that would not change by inverting.
