Calculate Ideal and Normal Weight
Calculate your
normal weight and your
ideal weight. The ideal weight indicates the minimum weight; anything less is considered underweight. The normal weight is the weight that is standard for people of a certain height; anything more is considered overweight. The ideal weight is therefore less than the normal weight. The range depends on gender and is slightly larger for women. A healthy weight should be between the two values. This calculation only applies to adults.

Formula for calculating the standard weight:
Body size in cm - 100
Formula for calculating the ideal weight:
For women:
Standard weight * 0.85
For men:
Standard weight * 0.9
For example, a woman with a height of 170 centimeters has an ideal weight of 60 kilograms and a normal weight of 70 kilograms. A man of the same height has an ideal weight of 63 kilograms and a normal weight of 70 kilograms, just as high as a woman of the same height.
This is one possible definition of normal weight and ideal weight. The advantage here is the ease of calculation. There is no exact scientific consensus on what weight or body mass is truly normal and ideal. However, there is a consensus that there are health benefits to having a weight roughly within this range. Both overweight and underweight are more likely to lead to health problems, especially in the long term.
Especially in the case of formal overweight, it is important to consider what constitutes the weight: muscle or fat. This can be ruled out using ABSI and the waist to hip ratio values, but these are more difficult to determine.
