WASP-12This yellow star, which is a bit larger than our Sun, is orbited every 1.09 days from the hottest known exoplanet, WASP-12b. The planet has a distance from its star of 0.02 AU, 1.12 times the mass of Jupiter and 1.68 times its diameter. The surface temperature is 2500 kelvin, as high as this of many red dwarfs. It was discovered by using the transit method.Constellation: Not available Distance: 870 light-years Spectral class: G0 Visual magnitude: 11.7 Back: List of Exoplanets 10/18/2008 |
