HD 188753A triple system of sunlike stars, with 2/3 - 1 solar masses each. The A star is orbited every 3.3 days by a planet with the size of Jupiter. This is a surprise, because before it was thought that planets can't exist in close multiple systems. The planet, HD 188753 Ab, disproves this.Constellation: Cygnus Distance: 149 light-years Spectral class: K0 Visual magnitude: 7.43 Space between HD 188753 A and B1/2: circa 9 AU Orbit period of HD 188753 A and B1/2: 25.7 years Orbit period of HD 188753 B1 and B2: 156 days Back: List of Exoplanets |
