16 CygniA double system of two sunlike stars. The first could have another star as companion whereas the second has a planet with a highly excentric orbit. The planet with at least 1.68 the mass of Jupiter orbits 16 Cygni B in 2.2 years within a distance of 0.6 - 2.7 AU. The surface temperature of the planet and potential moons therefore oscillates very much. Life in such a system probably is impossible to evolve. Constellation: Cygnus Age: 9.5 billion years Distance: 70.5 light-years Radial velocity: -27.4 km/sec Space between 16 Cygni A and B: 843 AU Orbit period of 16 Cygni A and B: 100 000 years
