Theta Carinae

This blue star lies in the open cluster IC 2602. Admittedly it is only a few million years old, much younger than the cluster with its 34 million years. However, it is behind the expected evolution for a star of this age and mass. Maybe Theta Carinae wasn't always this large and is really a blue straggler.

Spectral class: B0Vp
Visual magnitude: 2.74
