Spiral Star (WR 104)

One of the rare and extremely hot Wolf-Rayet Stars with an odd behaviour, probably due to a close companion. Each 220 days it rotates together with its gas spiral.
Why the spiral isn't destroyed by the stellar wind is unknown.

Distance: 4800 light-years
Spectral class: WCvar
Visual magnitude: 13.54
Mass: circa 25 * Sun
Diameter: circa 3 * Sun
