AtriaThe orange-red giant Alpha Trianguli Australis, abbreviated Atria, is a hybrid star. From its surface a relatively cool stellar wind blows, but it is surrounded by a hot corona which emits X-rays. Such a corona actually doens't fit to a red giant. If the star has companions is unclear.Constellation: Triangulum Australe Age: 45 million years Distance: 415 light-years Spectral class: K2 Visual magnitude: 1.91 Luminosity: 4900 * Sun Mass: 7 * Sun Diameter: 130 * Sun Back: List of big and giant stars 03/01/2006 |
