HD 47536

The orange-red star is about to expand to a red giant. It is orbited quite close by a planet with 5 to 10 times the mass of Jupiter.
The planet has maybe another 10 million years to live until it will be swallowed up by the red giant. Before that the stellar wind will slowly blow away its atmosphere and leave only the core behind. This will then be molten by the heat of the star and maybe evaporate completely.
